Nintendo World Championships Return in October

Starting Aug. 19, Best Buy stores volition host qualifying events in eight locations around the country. Players will exist divided into two groups based on their age, and anybody volition play Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS.

Those 12 and younger will play as Mario on the Nintendo DS "Luigi's Mansion" form using Standard Kart, Standard Wheels, and Super Glider. Those 13 and older will play as Bowser on the Game Boy Advance "Bowser Castle i" course using Standard Kart, Standard Wheels, and Super Glider.

"The thespian with the best Time Trial entry in each age group at the end of the two-mean solar day effect at each location will qualify for the Nintendo World Championships 2022," Nintendo wrote. Finalists will each receive a $400 gift card, plus two plane tickets to New York City, and a four-night hotel stay.

During the bodily Nintendo Earth Championship event in New York, players will "battle their style through a variety of games," Nintendo wrote. The kickoff place winner will receive a championship bays valued at $2,780 while the second and third place winners volition each receive medals valued at $100.

Nintendo said it plans to share more information nearly ticket availability for the New York Championship Event in the "coming weeks."
